That's why I am trying to understand this process as best as possible and then plan accordingly. so when you say this "You are NOT loosing "anything" by filing a second LC at the new location. You keep your priority date, and PERM is fast and I-140 processing time is 4 months or so" the only way to retain priority date is with approved I-140 .

She can continue to work with the same employer on H1 without any issue. I did traveled back thrice using AP and renewed by H1 with the same employer twice without any issues. Though I have my H1 valid till 2010, it is invalid after my GC approval :(.

This is really now a high time we need to do something, Green card is delayed, we have been patiently waiting, now EAD renewal is also delayed, I applied for AP renewal it is more than 2 and half month and it is delayed.
Why are legal and regular tax payer like us troubled so much ? , they want money take it, but provide efficient service ?
I am really surprised that there is nothing we can do ?

It is true that big businesses are putting a lot of pressure to initiate legal immigration reform, so while there is certainly room for optimism, we cannot sit still and just wait for things to happen. That is what legal immigrants have been doing for generations and we now know the mess that we are in. In contrast, look at the illegal immigrants. The only reason that I can see for not filing yourself, is if company is offering to pay. EAD & AP filing are simple and do not require to be done my employer.
If you think that the lawyer sucks, and you have a good relationship with your bosses, see if they will let you expense the fees and do it yourself. They save the lawyer's fees too that way.

My advise: If you are sending Originals, Take 2 copies and get Notarized and save them safely. If you need them in urgency you can always use Notarized ones.

This is a great move strategically to make members part of IV. With this, there is no need for IV to constantly campaingn for funds with regular active members. IV's energy towards campaign could be targeted towards the new members and other non monthly contributors.
I appreciate all the members who have volunteered to contribute on monthly basis. It is just a matter of spending on one lunch / one bar outing or for a movie.
Still let us keep a open thread for every month to make sure the fire on monthly contribution keeps burning. We dont want it to subside until we reach our goal.

You & your wife should talk to a good attorney about the possibility of using "interfiling" in case of a divorce. I was in the same situation as you couple of years ago & Shiela Murthy's office recommended "interfiling". If you need more information send me a PM

My wife, a derivative in my application, is holding up the process as it may affect her chances of getting a GC without any sweat. She has an parallel GC process running solely in her name, which I believe hasnt cleared PERM yet (some sort of audit). She is on H1B, extendable for another 3 years, and has EAD from my GC application. Will there be any implications on her application if the divorce goes through? And also, can I out of spite do anything to get her derivative application out of the queue :rolleyes: ?

Guys,
Today I saw a weird online status sequence for my spouse's EAD. At first when I checked it said that "card production has been ordered. Please wait 30 days to receive it." I checked again after couple of hours and the online status reverted back to the usual receipt notice status which says something like this
" On August 10, 2007, we received this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice."
This was the message I was receiving when I got the receipts initially.
But for my EAD today it is says "card production ordered...." and this message is still being displayed whenever I check it. So I am not sure why for my spouse's EAD the status went from "card production ordered" to previous receipt notice status.

I called NSC today. This time a lady answered my call. She did not help at all. I told her that I have received all four FP notices with misspelled Last Name. She was asking where these noices came from; I said NSC. She looked up the case and said I have already opened an SR for typo and she can not open another one. All she said is I should go to ASC for biometrics and inform there to correct it. I am not very sure, if correcting the typo at local ASC office is all its needed. I will update you guys once I go there on Friday.

Yes, 2012 it should be. There is a provision that if you have an approved I-140, your attorney could request the visa for 3 years, so 2013 it would be.
The I-140 premium processing requirements keep changing, so I can't say if you qualify. Wait for someone else to respond or search online and the forums here.

Dual exposure is the obvious and best solution to extremes in lighting but it necessitates setting up a tripod etc.
However, quite often one's best landscapes are an opportunity that presents itself on the spur of the moment. Frequently in these cases the lighting may not fit comfortably into the dynamic range and/or - dare I say it - one's exposure may also be hasty and less than optimum. Dual conversion of a single RAW file is is a great help in this regard. Whilst never quite as good as two separate exposures, I get the impression that the raw converter can extract a remarkable amount of hidden information from a file where the range is not too extreme.
In analogue terms this would be equivalent to being able to develop a single negative image twice with different dilutions temperatures etc (that would be a neat trick). The resulting image may not be technically perfect but may work perfectly in terms of aesthetics.

We did the COS from H4 (stamped) to F1 for my wife ourselves. It was easy, no lawyer but we got an RFE on the dollar amount so we replied again ourselves (giving an excel sheet etc). You can do it yourself.

So this can be a cook, dancer, painter or a programmer - if the society or economy needs one. Tomorrow, if my programmer skills are no longer required for this economy and country then I can be categorized unskilled labor too.
I am sorry if I look biased. I have no such intentions as I made clear in my first post itself. All my intentions of discussion are based on the definition given above for the word "skilled".
