my mom gave up her green card back in early 80's and she has had no problems what so ever in getting vistors visa since then (in fact it made it easier to get vistors visa (for the entire family) because it clearly shows no intention of migrating to US).

There is no need for you to have an actual copy of the I-140. I am assuming that you want to have the documents to prevent the current employer doing any 'harm' - intentional or otherwise to your case.
AC21 states that as long as the 140 has been certified, the current employer cannot do any thing if the employee leaves.
I am NOT sure about this next point, but even if the 140 is revoked by the employer the LC and PD stay valid.
Make sure you have the receipt #s, and check the status on the USCIS website. Once 140 is certified, you are golden.

GE is not a person. All of GE employees as well as share holders pay taxes on their income. Why do you want to double tax the companies and make them go out of business? Thats one reason companies have to setup operations in tax haven countries.
It's as if the wife has to pay taxes on her salary and then the husband has to pay taxes on the pocket money he gets from his wife as monthly allowance to run the house hold. (Just reversed the traditional places of husband and wife for fun).
So, can I stop paying sales taxes when I buy any goods out of my 'after tax' earnings???

I am guessing you had a 3 years extension after your 6 years and in your 7th year you transferred over just as a normal H1b would have done. Correct? So in this case, what is the significance of I-140 since your new emplyer will have to apply for PERM and LC again in any case?

Yes pretty much looks OK but I wont be comfortable if this is format your parents will use. For close relative this format is fine.
For parents I am not comfortable with the statement "and that________father�s name) is his/her father and _____________ (mother�s name) is his/her mother."
So just dig a little and there were members who have posted the sample for parents and close relative.

Hi:
I filed on July 23, I-140 and 485 concurrent.
I got EAD on 5th Oct.
I had fingerpring done on OCT12.
Whne Fingerprinting was done, with 2 of my fingers, it gave message
Warning !!!!!!!! Matched (with RED color) . Rest all fingers, it displayed passed with Green color.
Does it mean it matches with some kind of FBI database and Do I need to worry about it?
Please help gurus. I have lost my sleep.

It's illegal to work without authorization from DHS. Penalty if detected is deportation from the US.

I got my FP done today. I received the FP notice around 12th Sep. My receipt date is 4th Sep. Case is in Tx.
Appointment time was 2PM. We reached 15mins early. The time does not matter. Long line to check and accept the form. Then we were issued numbers and asked to wait for the numbers. For the amount of people waiting for FP, they did a good and fast job. Mostly young kids and they were fast.
Did FP and took Picture of self and wife and we were done. It took a little over 1 hour. I carried my passport but showd Drivers licence and that was all that was needed. Hope this helps.

I am currently working through a Consulting company at a client location.
Now, if I were to join the "same" client location as an employee after the 180 day completion of having filed I-485, what are the things that I need to keep in touch before I make this transition.
I do have EAD that is valid till Sep'08. Do I need to tell the client company that my I-485 is pending and that I can work using EAD or should I apply as anyone who would apply for the position without any strings...!!!
I would really appreciate if you guys can let me know any nuiances that I need to be aware of and any caveats that exist in this situation.
I appreciate your time and good luck to all to get the GC as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot for the information. Since I had sent my renewal application via courier, I never got any pick up slip. I have paid $15 for mailing service. What I am worried is that even if I drive 5 hours to pick up, if they haven't processed my application (its close to 4 weeks now since I have applied), I will run out of options. On the website they claim that they will process in 5 business days. I must have tried close to 5 different phone numbers multiples times for past week or so. I have also emailed and faxed my query multiple times. Same result - No response at all. I just don't get how work is done at the embassy.
I have no idea about all these complaints. I gave my passport for renewal on last thursday and i picked up new one on friday. Never heard of delays on this issue.
