Well, then get one of the Apple nugs to demo the rest of the stuff that people are obviously interested in. If you aren't into the phone, there really wasn't much to see here.

I'll be going in tomorrow morning to give blood, conveniently my school has organised a Blood Drive at the same time as MacRumors! Hopefully all goes well and someone will benefit from what my organs have to offer.

I've been thinking about that: remember when there were rumors of OS X delays because the Mac team was pulled onto the iOS team in order to get 3.0 out? I'm wondering if the opposite is happening now - the iOS team has been pulled onto the Lion team in order to get Lion ready for a summer launch.
This begs another question.
I know Apple likes to have very agile teams that can be pulled into whichever project needs the most attention at the time, but if OS X is taking a hit because of iOS, iOS is taking a hit because of OS X, iWork hasnt been refreshed, let alone iWork for iOS, etc, etc, it sounds like Apple just needs more engineers.

You only get benefit from 3 channel memory if all chips are the same, and apparently even then it is minor advantage. so I'd use 4-4-1-1 based on what you have.

and also: are we not able to change things like the "downloads" icon in the dock at all? i can change all of the other ones but i haven't gotten it to work for that one. i didn't have any trouble with documents or the trash so i didn't think there would be a problem with downloads. x.x
You should be able to change your Downloads folder, I've changed my Applications, Utility, Documents & Downloads earlier today. Open the Downloads folder in Finder / Get Info / Under the Sharing & Permissions tab make sure you give "everyone" the privilege to Read & Write. You should now be able to change the smaller icon up top to your choosing.

Simple solution: Financial Times should put out a browser version of the publication that is optimized for viewing on an iPad and simply require the same login that is does now for its web version.
I don't pay extra for the iPad version of nytimes.com on my iPad, so I use the web version instead (and it's not even optimized for iPad the way the mobile version is optimized for iPhone). I don't get the benefit of the snazzier iPad app, but I'm also not paying for it.
Apple created the iOS platform and allows third parties to develop apps for it as long as you play by Apple's rules. If you don't like Apple's rules, optimize your product to run as a web page for iPhone/iPad or just rely on the web version you have now.
Frankly, I wish more publications would do that: I would be fine to read web-based, iPad-optized versions of the New Yorker, New York Times, Newsweek, etc., if the subscription prices are cheaper than an iPad version and it means the publisher actually makes a web-based subscription available, even if it means I'm giving up some UI coolness, better graphics, etc., but not getting the iPad version.
The market works just fine.

That's a great idea! I'd love to see that for when I'm traveling and don't want to turn on international data roaming for the internet, but can still use cell towers for triangulation of my position.
Android has had this for months. Not only do they have turn-by-turn directions, but their maps are vector based, which is highly compressed. Accordingly, they can cache thousands of miles of maps onto the phone with a few seconds of internet connection.

Does XCode or interface builder include a grid object or data grid object? Are there any third-party developers who offer those objects?

Sorry... they don't sit in a room and strategize on how to mess with Jail Breakers. Sorry... they don't. They are just trying to address some bugs in the current release and that's a good thing.
Yes... it will probably break the JB... but that is your risk and your decision to JB. So, yes... my original post stands.
LOL that's such an immature comment from yourself.
Of COURSE they are trying to patch up the Jailbreak holes found by the JB community....
Sure they have bug fixes, but rarely will they go "to fix a security hole that allows users to jailbreak"
so no, it's not "PROBABLY" break the JB.... is: it WILL.
He was stating a fact.

Note that this is most likely from where the representative from Florida got her information and was paraphrasing, albeit with poor word choice....
I guess the Times was stuck between blaming the victim and having another Jena 6 story on their hands.
A poor word choice is not to go from this: They said she dressed older than her age, wearing makeup and fashions more appropriate to a woman in her 20s. She would hang out with teenage boys at a playground, some said...
to this:
...There was an article about an 11 year old girl who was gangraped in Texas by 18 young men because she was dressed like a 21-year-old prostitute....And her parents let her attend school like that. And I think its incumbent upon us to create some areas where students can be safe in school and show up in proper attire so what happened in Texas doesnt happen to our students.
The Times described a situation; Rep. Passidomo used that horrible situation to justify her stance on school uniforms by making the pernicious inference that wardrobe choices could lead to rape.
Similar thinking in Afghanistan and Iran leads women to wear burkhas, lest men become so incensed at the shape of an ankle or nape that they cannot help themselves. These cultures hold women, and not the rat bastards who commit the act, responsible. And Passidomo is using the exact same logic.

mmm - Geekbench score 732. woohoo
tem is sitting at around 46-47 degrees C or 117 degrees F at idle. A bit better than before the MX-2 paste.
One other thing you can do is enable "nap mode". It lets the CPUs enter a low power state when they are idle. It does not hurt performance.
It can be enabled with the Processor prefpane included in CHUD 3.5.2 (http://www.jcsenterprises.com/Japamacs_Page/Odds_and_Ends_files/CHUD_3.5.2.dmg).
Note: on some G4s nap mode is already enabled by default.

Let's not forget the Garmin app. It actually works very well.

Atari has released a new emulator for the iPhone and iPad called Atari's Greatest Hits (http://appshopper.com/games/ataris-greatest-hits) [iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ataris-greatest-hits/id422966028?mt=8)]. The free universal download comes with Pong and also offers a selection of 100 classic Atari arcade and 2600 console games for in-app purchase. The full list of games can be seen here (http://toucharcade.com/2011/04/06/atari-brings-100-retro-titles-to-ios-in-ataris-greatest-hits/) but include Asteroids, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Gravitar, Star Raiders, Missile Command, Tempest, Battlezone, and much more. Each 4-pack is offered for $0.99 or all 100 games can be purchased for $14.99.
The package has been well received (http://toucharcade.com/2011/04/07/ataris-greatest-hits-review-my-god-its-full-of-pixels/) at sister site TouchArcade, but perhaps most promising is that Atari had previously announced support (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/01/08/ces-2011-icade-for-ipad-magic-mouse-inductive-charger/) for the iCade iPad gaming accessory.

11...21...31...whatever the age ones mode of attire is not an invitation or deterrent to rape. I swear some of the characters are straight out of "The Handmaid's Tale".
Sorry but you need to come out of your fantasy world.
Is rape wrong? Yes.
Is dressing provocatively stupid? Yes.
If i was walking down an alley in the middle of the night and if i was stabbed, then sure the suspect would be in trouble, but i would be the idiot for walking down that alley at night.

It comes from stringing daisies together to make a chain or simply a daisy chain. From there, it has been used to describe various different things that look similar but have no daisies, of course. Like for hard drives. Or sexual partners, but you knew that, right?

I am actually trying to find several Think Different posters for our new Mac Lab at our High School. I don't even mind if they are authentic and would actually prefer something more affordable.
The Think Different posters would add a great touch but would like to find any Apple related posters I could frame and decorate our new lab.
Thanks for any guidance and suggestions in advance.

Does this drag and drop include attachements? That has always been my biggest pain with webmail (any webmail service, gmail, hotmail, ...) was that it is really annoying to send attachements (one by one adding and uploading instead of adding them all and upload them all at once)
